After arriving in San Jose last night, our Turtles II group headed out earlier this morning to continue our journey to San Miguel and Turtle Trax. We had a nice pizza lunch by the water as we waited for our ferry to take us across to the Nicoya Peninsula. Following a 1.5 hour ferry ride, we continued our journey and arrived at our hotel, Hotel Laguna Mar and met up with our Turtle Trax partners. Josue and the other Turtle Trax volunteers welcomed us into their place with a wonderful meal (pictured) and an introduction to the organization. We learned about night patrols and how the tides affect those patrols. Tomorrow, we begin our work! Alicja and I are so excited to be here and to share this experience with this amazing group of young people and the wonderful partners at Turtle Trax.
