Costa Rica Turtles II

Today is Friday the 25th and it was our day off. First we went to Oscar’s Farm, where we made our very own chorreada. They took us through the whole process including harvesting the corn, removing the husk, grinding the kernels, and frying it. Afterwards we headed to the beach to relax for a couple hours. Next, we ate a delicious dinner at Rio’s. Lastly, everyone decided to go on a voluntary turtle patrol. Throughout our stay in Costa Rica we have learned how to use the ethical leadership skill of humility. We have learned to take a step back and learn from the locals, like making chorreada. It is important to practice humility because it is not only about creating a comfortable space but as well as understanding other people’s perspective. I hope to continue to use humility in my everyday life. I’m so grateful to be on such an incredible experience with the coolest people.
