Our network of professional educators is dedicated to sharing expertise and resources. Opportunities include professional development workshops, an annual Ethical Leadership Forum with attendees from the entire SStS community, and risk management training.

Yearly Ethical Leadership Forum Registration, room, and meals provided for two teachers/staff. Additional members welcomed at cost. Teachers and school personnel unable to attend the Forum in person may attend the virtual event free of charge.

Field Study Leaders Priority access for teachers to lead SStS courses. Three-day training in Colorado plus all costs of the field study provided.

Summer “Offsite” Professional Development Professional development workshops led by SStS, hosted in Costa Rica or Colorado for teachers from Shoulder-to-Shoulder schools. Can be customized for individual schools.

Impact Workshops Experiential, small-group courses for educators, created for measurable impact on students, faculty, and community.

Professional Learning Series Facilitated conversations with members of the SStS educator community on timely topics. Conversations inspire and connect educators to problem-solve together.

Yearly Ethical Leadership Forum Unlimited educators from your school can attend the virtual part of the Forum free of charge. Educators can also bring speakers to their classrooms virtually to inspire conversation.

Backyard Project SStS partners with members schools and local nonprofits in their communities to create a curriculum-based experience available to all students and faculty.

Custom Consultation & Workshops For School Teams SStS works with your school team to translate ideas into action. Topics include advisory programming, collective impact, service learning, ethical leadership and global programming.

NGO Leader Visits NGO leaders present on members’ campuses using formats customized by each school. Travel/lodging arranged by SStS. These visits can also be arranged virtually.
