Many of us were feeling a bit under the weather and breakfast seemed rather empty. Today, however, we finally installed the trash cans – 6 total. Digging the holes was extremely hard because of rocks, roots, and even trash in the ground. We even mixed cement on the ground – in the absence of a mixer or wheelbarrow.

After a tough day of physical work, we had dinner and a discussion on the politics between Tibet and China. Tibet, wanting to preserve their culture, is in a struggle with China, whose interest is developing the land, building hotels, and increase tourism. China is also interested in the natural resources, including water. Tension remains between preserving the Tibetan culture and building the infrastructure of tourism.
