Today was a continued day of work, but we finally began to see the fruits of our labor. After two days of hauling sand up to fix the roof, we’ve seen the pile gradually shrink until finally, there was only one pile left.

And it was done, we had carried out a task that had at first seemed insurmountable. Hard work and perseverance had paid off, and we had gathered enough sand to fix the roof. Standing at the top of the stairs, just after carrying the final bag of sand, I began to think. We had accomplished so much with nothing more than teamwork and grit, so much more than any of us could have done alone. Sometimes we get so stuck in our individual ways of doing things, we forget that we’re surrounded by other people with their own perspectives and ideas. However, some problems are too big for us to solve alone, and a little teamwork goes a long way. Whether it be carrying sand or building chicken coops, we can all benefit from a little teamwork sometimes.
