The last few days we left Turtle Trax and came to Chachagua. Meeting the new family and eating with them has been a great experience. Seeing the difference in the towns going from very rural to a bigger touristy town makes it feel like a different place. Being so close to people and animals in different places draws into our discussion about proximity, how being close and experiencing things first hand gives us a different view of conservation work. Seeing how hard people work for things they are passionate about and really being close to that changes how you see progress. Through the last few weeks we have had our ideas about conservation and education shift by being able to work with the turtles, in the schools and talk to the people who spent their lives working towards this.
