Today we visited Jungle Mike’s butterfly farm and learned about all different species of butterflies and all the insects and bugs that live in the jungle. In the afternoon we played soccer with all the local kids. It has been a lot of fun to connect with the community here and it has helped me to learn about the importance of understanding different global perspectives. The experiences we have had in the schools and again today on the soccer field have all taught me that even through language barriers and cultural differences humans can connect in meaningful ways. These connections and understanding of global perspectives is also part of what we are learning about leadership. To create meaningful change it is important to also make meaningful connections.
