We had French toast for breakfast as it started to rain we debated on going to our waterfall hike. We decided we were still going to go after the rain died down. When we arrived it was a beautiful rainforest, we decided to hike the long way to see some animals. It started to downpour as we walked through the jungle in shin deep mud, but luckily we had wellies! We saw a sloth climbing a tree and the nature around us was amazing. We did our loop then it started raining even more, it was now time for the waterfall hike. We all decided to go straight in our bathing suits to the waterfall in the pouring rain. The waterfall and the view was beautiful and we all jumped in as we heard the loudest thunder ever and made our way back to the boats. We then went to lunch with the monkey poncho next to us, another lunch of chicken and rice. The San Cristobal crew couldn’t cross between the islands because of the rainstorm, so we all stayed in Basti, half the group volunteered in the community center while the other half reflected and then we switched. It was a long rainy day and we ended it with our last dinner together with all of our leaders and JK- the volunteer coordinator.
