The last two days have been an adventure! Yesterday was filled with many activities including visiting a giraffe sanctuary, safari walk, cultural center, and meeting Dr. K in Nairobi. I loved being able to bond with everyone in the group and being able to learn more about the Kenya tribes and cultures. We got to do different cultural dances together, which I enjoyed greatly because of the connections we all made.
After dinner we had the opportunity to talk to Dr. K and I believe that it will be a talk that will stick with me for the rest of my life. Specifically, her 5 beliefs (you are pure, complete, whole, beautiful, and enough).

Today was less eventful because we all had the “5 hour” drive to Meru from Nairobi. We got randomly selected for groups in the two vans, which I thought would be hard but was very nice. I have talked to more people than I thought I would and got to bond with people closer through activities like pictures and friendship bracelets. It took a lot longer than we thought it would, but we are all being flexible with the situations we encounter. We have already gotten to meet a lot of interesting people throughout our stops and adventures. We got to stop at a mall to buy snacks and use an ATM which was nice because we all have Kenyan Shillings now. We also got to stop at the Equator and see the way it changes things, which was super cool to be able to do. I have been a little homesick because of the no contact for the first few days, but I am genuinely so happy to have this experience and be able to be with the people that I am with. I love being able to help people and have fun all at once, and being able to make an impact, even if it’s small, brings me a lot of happiness.
