Today is day five. This morning we began our day with a hike to Wizard Beach. One of the most memorable things we saw along the trail were all of the ants carrying food for their colonies. Arriving at the beach, only slightly bitten by ants, we were greeted by soft sand and the sight of the waves. As we were taking in the sights of the ocean, we realized how beautiful the island is both in natural beauty and the people who live there. The island is filled with color and you can always see the ocean no matter where you are. Whenever we are outside, we always run into the kids from the center, which makes us feel part of the community on Bastimentos. The amount of kindness that the people of the island show us express the family feel of the island.
