Arriving in Lima, all giddy and excited for the upcoming journey, we faced some unfortunate challenges. First was the immigration services line that led us to miss our flight to Cuzco. However, despite this obstacle our group was able to grow closer and learn how to adapt to new situations. We had the chance to explore and experience downtown Lima which we otherwise would have missed. Upon arrival in Urubamba, we were delighted with authentic Peruvian cuisine. The following day, we had the chance to see a celebratory 200 year anniversary parade in Urubamba with local schools representing their communities. After exploring the town, we met with the leaders of the Llama Pack Project where they explained the upcoming adventures in the Andes. Following our meeting, our group leader, Anna, lead us in a relaxing yoga experience. Overall, our group has overcome many challenges and as a result grown much closer in a small time period. We’re so excited for the adventures ahead.
