It has been the greatest of honors to be entrusted with your students this summer. I know you’ve been missing them at home, and soon will have them back with stories, souvenirs and suntans.
This was the first year we (Ade and Matthew) worked with SStS and the first year that we’ve met the wonderful people of Rancho Quemado. And, we couldn’t have asked for a better group. Every person we worked with, including our hosts at Rancho Verde, said that this group had “something special” about them. Indeed, the vibes were right. Pura Vida as they say here!
To the students, we hope you all know how much we have appreciated the laughter, the service, the curiosity, the bravery … and the many many rounds of bananagrams and go-fish (… or is it gold fish?)
To the parents, thank you again for supporting your student on this massive undertaking. I hope you see, when they return, how much they have grown in just these two short weeks.
To everyone, we are so renewed and inspired by these young leaders. Truly, if they continue to walk the paths they set out from today, tomorrow will bring a better, more just, more healthy planet – and we will all be the richer for it.
