Key Largo

We started the day off with hearty breakfast of Bacon and Pancakes (very delicious)
Following that we got on the Nari taking a trip on a survey of the keys. Seeing a hardbottom, patch reef, bank reef, artificial reef, and then the Deep Blue (over 250 feet deep!) Lunch was tacos with a delicious homemade salsa. The tacos were a lot better than we thought they were going to be, and the chips paired really well with the salsa.

The most eye opening and entertaining part of today was at Banana Reef and an entertaining lesson on Reef health. After a long boat ride out we saw many different schools of fish, two reef sharks, three sea turtles including one juvenile, two eagle rays, a goliath grouper, and last but not least two stingrays. It was the most exciting part of the trip and was incredible to see so much ocean life in its natural habitat. The heat was beating down on us the entire time, which helped us warm up after we got back on the boat. The boat ride back felt like such a good break after the day of snorkeling was over. People flooded the showers when we got off the boat (after saying goodbye to Amanda, our captain, of course.) There was a massive UNO game shortly after, which led us into the circle for the day, where we discussed the importance of humility in ethical leadership. For dinner we had chicken alfredo, which was definitely a highlight of the day, along with some garlic bread and M&M cookies.
