We started the day with a hearty breakfast of rice, beans, and bread. Then we walked about twenty minutes to a trail that took us into the jungle where we had quite the adventure. In the rainforest, we saw multiple toucans and capuchin monkeys. We found out about a multitude of trees and plants. We ate some wild fruit and saw/learned about trees that walk. We heard the rain through the canopy of the forest. We arrived back at rancho verde and had an amazing lunch. There was pork and rice and beans. Then we had some down time before we went back to the start of the trail where we were this morning. There is a greenhouse project where people grow trees and endangered plants to repopulate the rainforest with them. There we helped fill bags that are recycled and used to plant the plants that are grown there. On top of that, we helped move the planters to where they will eventually plant the seeds of saplings. The work was hard but in the end, we ended up doing about five days’ worth of work in two and a half hours. It was a very busy day so i think we are all very tired. Tomorrow will be just as tiring.
