One of the most important lessons I have learned from this trip so far is not confusing what I want with what I need in everyday life. I constantly think that I need to have a hot shower, or I need a machine to wash my clothes, but in reality, a cold shower won’t kill me, and hand washing my clothes works the same as a machine. This also reminds me not to take the little pleasures in life that I label as necessities for granted. Throughout the trip, I have been able to differentiate my needs and wants, and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity, Shoulder to Shoulder, and The Small World have given me to recognize this
