ASFG Puerto Rico

SStS strongly encourages each student to visit a local “travelers clinic” or international health care practitioner who can advise you personally on your specific needs and questions. We can not give specific recommendations other than following the CDC’s recommendations, which are linked below.

All students are booked on a group flight from the gateway city of Guadalajara (GDL).

Accommodations

San Juan: Accommodations will be in a local hostel. Students will share rooms of 4-6 people per room. Rooms are reserved for only members of the group. 

Patillas: The group will be staying in small cabins on a private farm on the coast of Patillas. Each student will have their own bed in a shared room (4-6 people per room). Showers and bathroom facilities will be available to the group.

Sunday, February 23

• Depart Guadalajara, Mexico for San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU) at 5:45 AM. Arrive to San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU) at 4:36 PM
• Evening at Santurcia Hostel 

Monday, February 24

• Depart for Finca Corsica
• Farmwork at Finca Corsica
• Evening at Finca Corsica

Tuesday, February 25

• Visit Carite 3.0 Farm
• Farm work (Composting, Seed Germination, Planting, Weeding)
• Evening at Finca Corsica

Wednesday, February 26

• Workshop: Ethnobotany and the History of cacao
• Garden work at a local Montessori school 
• Evening at Finca Corsica 

Thursday, February 27 

• Visit Finca Caribe
• Farm work at Finca Caribe (Productive small-scale farm)
• Visit Punta Pozuelo and participate in a local conservation project 
• Evening at Finca Corsica 

Friday, February 28

• Visit Charco El Survivor 
• Environmental Art Workshop
• Evening at Santurcia Hostel

Saturday, March 1

• Breakfast at Salut and a workshop on eating local food
• Depart San Juan at 3:46 PM for Guadalajara, Mexico
• Arrive in Guadalajara, Mexico, at 10:35 PM
