Our July 4th began with a hearty breakfast of pork, eggs and rice. After rallying our tired bodies, we marched off to the medical clinic, minds set on working on the waiting room. Upon arrival we quickly began on raising pre-built sections of the room. Working shoulder-to-shoulder with two dozen locals. We were able to raise the four hefty sections of frame in record time. Finishing well before our deadline, we trooped home with high spirits for some rest before lunch. After feasting on another delicious meal prepared by our wonderful cooks, we had a cooking class with some locals who showed us how to make sweet, sticky rice pastries. Following our cooking how-to, we retrieved to our hammocks and chairs for some reading, cards, and more rest. Not too soon after, a pick-up volleyball game got started and lasted until the sun slid behind the horizon. Emotions ran high as we played shoulder-to-shoulder with some local children for a great end to a great day.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
